This site is the landward side of Conger Crevasse and can end with a drift along the crevasse should you choose. A large gulley runs north-south to a depth of about 30m. The bottom of the gulley is covered in large sponges and as you head up the steep sided walls it changes to become more dominated by deadman's fingers and then finally the normal kelp forest on top.
After spending about the first half of the dive exploring the gulley floor and walls, we made a point of spending a significant amount of time in the kelp. The idea was to spot some seals - we were ever hopeful - but unfortunately it wasn't to be. Instead we spent our time playing with jellyfish and looking at the countless nudibranchs and other critters grazing the kelp, keeping a determined eye out for something slightly bigger.
