Scuba Diving at Aliwal Shoal, South Africa
Reader Reviews:
Dive Site: The Produce
Location: Aliwal Shoal, Umkomaas, South Africa
Description: Norwegian tanker
Depth: 30 metres (100 feet)
Visibility: 20 metres (65 feet)
Rating: ****
The wreck of the Produce is a Norwegian bulk molasses tanker that struck Aliwal Shoal on the Northeast Pinnacles in 1974 with no lives lost. She now rests in 30 metres of water and makes an interesting wreck dive. Big game fish such as salmon, kingfish, brindle bass share the wreck with lionfish and many colourful tropical species.

I dived the Aliwal Shoal on the 15/06/08. It isn’t the easiest of dives at it has strong current and extremely big. Not is it only big, but it’s broken up in two parts.
The life on the wreck is amazing, massive brindles and rare harlequin goldies. I would like a drawing of the wreck with its height width and position if possible. Just not enough time to do it my self.
