Dive Site: The Sea Cave
Location: Near Paliea Point, East Oahu
Description: Cave / reef
Depth: 22 metres (72 feet)
Visibility: 40 metres (130 feet)
Rating: *****
The Sea Cave is one of the best dive sites that Hawaii has to offer. The cave is easy to get inside and goes back about fifty metres. A turtle met me as I got inside. After leaving the cave I drifted along a reef wall which was also good and saw an octopus as well as many other reef fish.

While looking for a whale shark in the Paliea Point area, we ducked inside the Sea Cave. Expecting to see white-tip sharks or a turtle, we were greeted by two monk seals playing in the cave's sky light.

Although the reefs on the south shore are exquisite, this part of Oahu can be extremely dangerous with swell and outward sweeping currents.
Typical entries are rocky. Use extreme caution, and have fun!
