Dive Site: Dos Amigos Grande

Location: Cocos Island, Costa Rica

Description: Reef dive

Depth: 0 - 25 metres (0 - 80 feet)

Visibility: 20 - 25 metres (65 - 80 feet)

This site is set apart from all the other dives around Cocos by the huge archway that you swim through. Depending on the current, you will either start at a cleaning station and end with the archway, or vice versa. There seemed to be less hammerheads here that on Small Dos Amigos but there were still some around and there were plenty of marble rays and the archway gave it that extra bit of interest. We also got some really close encounters with the hammerheads as they would swim close enough to touch.
