Scuba Diving in Menorca
Dive Site: Cala Blanca
Location: Cala Blanca, Menorca
Depth: 3 - 17 metres (9 - 55 feet)
Visibility: 30 metres (100 feet)
A dive centres house dive, this site is just south of Grand Canyons and is used by a couple of dive centres. Walking down past the resident dive centre we descend down some man-made steps for a giant stride entry from a height of about 1.5m into 3m of water. Keeping inside of the buoys with the coastline on our right hand side we head deeper to look for octopus in nooks and crannies. An abundance of sponges can be found here and two easy swim-throughs in about 7m of water can be done even for novice divers and try divers.
Heading deeper over a rocky seagrass area we have seen cuttlefish here. At a depth of about 14m we come across a sinkhole which takes us down to a maximum depth of 17m. This is the turnpoint of the dive and on the way back we keep the coastline on our left. A small cavern can be visited here, but it is very small and more meandering in and out of boulders on the swim back is available. The exit point is a ledge to the right of where the entry point is and has steps to help you back out of the water.
Nice dive for novices and lots for experienced divers to do also.
